Most Museum School students live off campus in Boston’s diverse and
interesting neighborhoods. Our Student Affairs Office provides current
listings of available apartments, roommates, realtors, and alternative
accommodations; plus office resources to support your search, including
telephones, Internet access, and bulletin boards.
The Museum School also hosts special housing events before the beginning of
each semester. Staff members orient students to Boston and match students with
roommates and realtors. You’ll find these events helpful as you explore
America’s best college town. This year's Housing Assistance Day is on June 26, 2008. You will find information below about accommodations for your stay in Boston at this time.
If you plan to live off campus, you should start your housing search three to
four months before the fall semester and two months before the spring semester.
Off-Campus Housing Costs The average monthly cost of
an apartment shared with roommates is $500–$800 per person, depending on the
location, the number of roommates, and other variables. The cost of a
single-occupancy apartment begins at $800. Parking Parking is available at the Museum of Fine ArtsBoston's parking garage, located on Museum Road. Coupons for a special discounted rate of $12 per day will be available at check-in.
Other Local Accommodations These listings are meant as a resource for students and their families. The SMFA has no relationship with, nor does it endorse any of these businesses.
