Experience studio art at SMFA!

Students who are enrolled full-time in a fine arts, design or liberal arts program at an accredited institution of higher education in the U.S. or abroad are invited to spend a semester or full academic year practicing at SMFA through the Visiting Student Program (VSP). Visiting students enroll at SMFA typically in their third (junior) year and transfer credit back to their home school, college or university.

Visiting students are fully incorporated into the student body and fully integrated with SMFA studio program courses. Unlike most institutions, SMFA offers visiting students the freedom to work across mediums and disciplines—you determine your own course of study.

The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD).
